Excellent Pair of Tang Dynasty Tomb Guardian Earth Spirits

Period: Tang Dynasty 618 to 907, China.

Size: This pair of wonderful sculpture stands approximately 15" in height.

Condition: Good, color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age.

Description: This is a very beautiful pair of statues. The earth spirits still have a great deal of original pigment still remaining. They are beautifully sculpted and painted. They are excellent examples of Tang Dynasty tomb pottery.
