Excellent Northern Qi Dynasty Painted Tomb Pottery Soldier

Period: Qi Dynasty, China, 479 to 502.

Size: The soldier is approximately 18 1/2" tall.

Condition: Some color fading, abrasions, small chips and/or minor deterioration with possible areas of expert restoration is not unusual in burial pieces of this age.

Description: This wonderful soldier is wearing many layers of protection. The face is well sculpted and his ears are large and deeply incised. The soldiers right arm is raised with a small hole in the hand. This soldier is covered in orangish - red pigments. He is a very nice example of Qi Dynasty pottery soldiers.
