A Pair of Meissen Water Jars Continental Porcelain
Provenance: Royal House of Hannover, de-assessed 2005, deep Blue ground (beau bleu) with cailloute gold (pebbling), bouquets of flowers reserved in gilt garlands the lids with later metal mounts mark: underglazed crossed swords with dot underglaze W and (crown?) to the rims Height 8" inside hairline crack and chip to one spout restored; The Hannover dynasty (England's George I, II and III) , extensive collections are an important part of the history of diplomacy and decorative arts. Since cailloute style in vogue by Sevres was passe at the end of 18th c. I argue these were decorated in the 18th century.
