Molded in the form of a young Dutch couple and cast out of bronze over plaster, this is handsome pair of bookends. Each figure has nice detail. The busts rest on a stepped and conforming rectangular base. The bookends are finished in a soft gold patina. Each back marked with an impressed shield framing a circle.

A Bronze “Autumn” One of the Four Seasons by Leon Pilet (France 1836-1916)
This stunning bronze statue is an allegorical representation of autumn by Leon Pilet (France 1836-1916). She holds a sickle, which she used to harvest wheat that lies beneath. Her long flowing dress is draped over one shoulder and a lamb follows her every move. The work is signed on the right hand side of the base.

A Pair of Bronze Patina Cranes, Japanese, 20th Century
These elegant cranes with a warm dark brown patination are cast with life like detailing. Each bird stands tall with long legs that are cast separate from the body. Each head has a hint of red enameling. There is a manufacturing label that reads “Hong, Horizon.”
