The back plate is carved in the form of a rope and tassel. Surmounted by a ribbon the sconce is centered by an element and acanthus leaf issuing two arms leading to a single candle light. Fitted with electricity.

The pair of sconces is cast with a foliate scrolling back plate with florets issuing three arms of various high. These are well cast, with dore style finish and where retailed through the famous Cleveland, Ohio design firm Holzheimer’s.

This handsome lamp is probably made of bronze and has some nice details. The interior of the band is marked with impressed Roman numerals. There is no makers mark, but this is a quality lamp. The dual sockets are original with the beaded pulls. The lamp is toped off with a hand-decorated shade with a stylized rope twist detail.
