The back plate is carved in the form of a rope and tassel. Surmounted by a ribbon the sconce is centered by an element and acanthus leaf issuing two arms leading to a single candle light. Fitted with electricity.

The pair of sconces is cast with a foliate scrolling back plate with florets issuing three arms of various high. These are well cast, with dore style finish and where retailed through the famous Cleveland, Ohio design firm Holzheimer’s.

Each rectangular mahogany (or tropical hardwood) panel is hand carved with an acanthus style leaf and mounted with a hand wrought iron arm and boboche. The panels are of various thickness and height, but work wonderfully as a pair.
