A Sterling Silver Sugar Snip / Tong Georg Jensen, Cactus, circa 1930
One of the most famous and sought after silver smiths, Georg Jensen had a variety of modern designs. His studios still work to continue on his legacy. This sugar tong was produced in the 1930’s. The hallmarks on the piece contain an oval with dots and the words “GEORG, JENSEN” and in a rectangle the words “STERLING, DENMARK”. It seems that the mark was used from 1915-1927, however the pattern was introduced in 1930. The mark is not clear. Size: 4” long Condition: Excellent $225.00 |
