A Transfer Decorated Polychrome Maxim Child’s Plate, English 19th Century

The round plate with a stylized floral band in relief is hand decorated in blue, red, and greens. The center is transfer decorated in blue depicting children at work. The round image is framed with a phrase, Industry pays debts, while despair encreaseth them. He that hath a trade hath an estate. At the working maris house hunger looks in but dares not enter.” The verso is marked with a paper label from a previous antique shop.
