Industrial Mold,Retrofitted as a Mirror, by Mike Kaplan
A Vintage Industrial Gear Mold, Retrofitted as a Mirror, by Mike Kaplan

This unique and original work will command presence in any space or decorum. This distressed wooden frame from the 1950s was originally used as an industrial mold, sourced from Butler, PA. The form of the work is an elongated arch shape. This is crowned with two concentric and protruding circles. At their epicentre lies the mirror. The original gear mold is composed of wood and most of it has been polychromed in a subdued blue and rich red. The paint’s finish has a weathered and worn appearance. A small stamped steel plate denoting industrial identification remains. This work is striking and, is truly one of a kind!

Size: 35” in length and, 23” at its widest

Condition: Excellent
