A Gorgeous Pair of Rice Paper Scrolls, Japanese 19th C.
A Gorgeous Pair of Rice Paper Scrolls, Japanese 19th Century

These oblong rectangular rice paper scrolls are a graceful pair. The background frames the work with a dusty rose hued floral pattern. The top and base of each ink painting is inlayed with a lovely piece of peach and sky blue hued silk. The black ink painting depicts Daruma, the man so devout he remove his eyelids as to spend all hours in meditation. The lines of the artist show grace, control and, an understanding of placement. The lower right of each scroll is signed and stamped. Each scroll is afixed to a sienna lacquered wood rod. The scrolls role up easy and both tops are adorned with fabric strings for displayed hanging and a secure tie when rolled up.

Size: each scroll is just over 6 when unrolled

Condition: Excellent

Price: $1,400.00 USD -for the pair
