This handsome mantel clock is composed of a rich hued sturdy walnut. The Classical inspired work boasts a pointed pediment rail with a seraphim face and, accented with scrolling elements. Either side of the face shows a relief column in the form of an exotic slave/mermaid figure. The footed base and frame of the opening glass face are banded with and carved acanthus motif. The square face if the clock is brass with Roman and Arabic numeric values. The four sides of the square are rounded with winged seraphim faces. The back of this handsome mantel clock also has a door for access to its internal mechanisms. The brass mechanism is marked, with a maker’s mark and “Eigetragene Fabrikmarke” –meaning the piece is company trademarked.
