Wedgwood Tureen, Blue Willow Pattern, Porcelain, England
This darling and small tureen is ideal as individual soup service or, as a sauceboat. The handle atop the lid is in the form of flared feathers. The lid has an arched shape notch for as a place for a spoon to peek out. The lid and bowl are ovular in shape. Identical side handles flank the bowl. Wedgwood decorates the work in the classic Blue Willow pattern. This pattern is no longer in production and, it is highly collectable. The palette of the pattern is an underglazed blue and white. The motif shows willows, pagodas, foliage and, birds. The boarders are Chinoisere geometric patterns. This Blue Willow pattern was created in response to the popularity of the fine porcelains of the East. The base of the work is marked “Willow Wedgwood Etruria England.” Size: 4 ¾” in height and, 6 ¾” in width and, 3 ¾” in depth Condition: Excellent, small chip on rim of bowl Price: $195.00 -USD- |
