A Hand Carved & Gilded Chinese Table Screen and Stand
A Hand Carved & Gilded Chinese Table Screen and Stand 19th Century

This ornate gilded wood and mirrored table screen and stand is remarkably intricate and contains two outdoor scenes. The central scene on the screen measures 12 ½”high x 9” wide. It is framed by a repeating pattern of vines and chrysanthemums. The mirror on the front of the screen has been replaced. The oak frame and mirror plate on the verso may not be original, however it appears to be about 100 years old. A much smaller panel centered on the stand depicts an outdoor garden scene and measures 11 ¾”high x 2 ¾”wide. Two feet that are adorned with pierced woodcarving support the stand. The pierced woodcarving also connects the feet, which are backed by a mirror. There has been some repair, some loss and loose pieces on the pierced woodcarving located on the back of the stand. The stand is possibly marked on the base of the verso of the mirror.

Size: Overall 32” high, 15” wide

Condition: Good to Excellent
