A Part Mahogany Louis XIV Armchair, 18th Century

The upholstered back center by an arch and framed by a row of brass nail heads, sits over an upholstered seat, all covered in a large fruit and foliate needlepoint in shades of cream, blues, greens, red, burgundy, mustard yellow and ocher. The seat is flanked by two arms with needlepoint armrests and terminating in a scrolled knuckle. The arms are raised on curved supports leading to a carved seat rail. The chair is raised on cabriole legs terminating in a cloven hoof. Provenance Hanna Estate, Cleveland, Ohio

Size: 40” high, 28” wide, 22” deep

Condition: Very Good, restoration and old repairs to legs and right arm support, old warm holes and needlepoint not original
