A beautiful and very distinctive, and big, vintage necklace in the 1940s Retro Moderne style which succeeded the Art Deco style of the 1930s. Circa 1940. The inside of the hook is marked ROYAL but I have seen a signed Napier bracelet which is an exact match to this piece, in another colorway, on another website. In silvertone metal with very big openback and unfoiled purple poured glass cabochon stones in pronged settings. With three very large and dimensional center elements, and classic 1940s snake chains at each end, with a smaller matching extender on one end. Heavy and substantial and highest quality. The center elements are thick cast pot metal and beautifully finished. I have not had a piece like this before. From the estate of a Baltimore collector. Fabulous and dramatic and super wearable for any day or evening occasion. Photos do not capture this beautiful piece. Wearable length is 16 inches. The center elements are 1 1/2 inches wide.
