A stunning vintage pendant necklace in a classic stepped, ziggurat Deco design. Circa 1925. From a Philadelphia estate. Marked STERLING and GERMANY very faintly on the clasp. Very much in the manner of Theodor Fahrner. With large round and square cabochon genuine coral stones, tiny cut and faceted onyx stones, and many glittering marcasites. With a slide
clasp and safety catch, and articulated links. Drapes beautifully. A classic collectible Art Deco piece, and currently perfectly of the moment as well. The fashion world is in the midst of a major Art Deco revival, with top houses such as Marc Jacobs, Lanvin, and Gucci showing jewelry and accessories with a glamorous graphic moderne edge. Wearable length is 16 3/4 inches. The sides are 1/4 inch wide. The pendant is 2 1/4 inches long and 1 inch wide. Excellent condition. Photos enlarged to show detail. |
