Robert Lee Morris Garnet Glass Necklace Converts 3 Ways
Fabulous and modern looking eight strand necklace in dark red glass and goldtone metal. It can be worn thee ways: with the large molten form two piece pendant, without the pendant and with the red glass cabochon decorated clasp at the side, or with the clasp at the back, without the pendant. By the studio jeweler Robert Lee Morris, who has been designing jewelry since 1970, collaborating with Donna Karan and Karl Lagerfeld. This piece is from the late 1970s or early 1980s. Not marked but it has Morris's signature S shaped hook clasp, and is very recognizable as his work.

17 1/2 inches wearable length and 1 1/2 inches wide. The pendant and bale are 3 3/4 inches long and 2 inches wide. Overall excellent condition. There are several tiny losses to the goldtone finish on the back of the pendant, the bale, and the edge of the bale, and one spot on the hook, none are visible from the front. Photos enlarged to show detail. Necklace form is life size.
