An animated work by modern pottery master kishimoto Kennin enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The bowl rises from a flat base to wide everted rim engraved with graffito and pierced with three fish. A similar design decorates the basin. A fine mottle of sharp red underlies the tinged glaze of this excellent Shino example by Kato Yoshihiko (b. 1946) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. A fine shino box by pottey master Kishimoto Kennin covered in thick deeply fissured feldspathic glaze. The sides are torn and cut typical of this artists work. Smooth inside, the glaze is rough and extremely textured without. The box is roughly 5 inches (13 cm) square, 5-1/2 inches (14 cm) tall and in perfect condition, signed no the base.
