Lemonade set (probably Mt. Washington with decorations by Smith Bros) including a blown glass pitcher and 3 matching tumblers, all hand painted and made during the Victorian era circa 1880-1900. The pitcher has a crimp ruffle rim with an applied rib handle and semi-polished pontil; it also depicts a wood log cabin/mill with snow and blue water in the foreground. The tumblers depict the back of the mill with snow in the foreground; they have a polished pontil. Measurements: Pitcher measures 9.5" tall with an opening of 5" from spout to handle. Tumblers each measure 3.75" tall with an opening of 2.75" Condition: Excellent. There is no damage to the glass; however, there are a couple (2) spec loss to paint on the pitcher but that is not noticeable unless specifically looking for it. There is also some very tiny bubbles very typical in Victorian glass. This set was very well taken care and it shows. The snow is life-like. Very well hand painted in enamel to protect it. |
