Excellent turn of 19th century gold leaf background six panel short screen for wall hanging. The Samurai with 2 retainers travel through the snowy landscape, pine tree, dark river and beyond. The right last 2 panel are blank indicating the arduous and solitude journey they are on. Painting has been restored and damaged spots repaired and yet retains soft lavender silk border, black lacquered wooden frame and etched brass hardware. Dimensions: 42" (h)x 110" (w).
