Colorful, striking single panel of pheasants, chrysanthemums on paper. The revered flower in Japan also called kiku known for it beauty and fragrance. They have been the imperial family's emblem since Kamakura period (1185-1333). Flowers painted symbolize changing seasons and fleeting years of human life. Flowers, rocks, birds are part of the universe and do exist in isolation. c.early to mid 20th century. 30"(H)x 48"(L). Signed as Xing Xiang. In good condition.
