Paul Vigil (b.1932) is a member of the Tesuque Pueblo tribe, located near Santa Fe, New Mexico. He worked as a carpenter on the Navajo reservation before bringing his family home to the Tesuque Pueblo to re-establish a connection with the Pueblo traditions and the art he excelled in as a teenager. His watercolors of traditional Tewa dancers delineate the clothing and accessories with delicate brushwork, and his work feature geometric designs symbolic of corn, water, or Pueblo architecture.

Virgil Vigil (Tesuque Pueblo, New Mexico) is the son of Paul Vigil. His work is very detailed, done in brighter colors than that of his father, Paul Vigil (see above). Virgil is the heir-apparent of the traditional Pueblo Dancer painters. This Buffalo Dancer watercolor was painted in 2001. Matted size is 12 inches by 10 inches; watercolor painting is 8 inches by 6 inches.
