Virgil Vigil (Tesuque Pueblo, New Mexico) is the son of Paul Vigil. His work is very detailed, done in brighter colors than that of his father, Paul Vigil (see above). Virgil is the heir-apparent of the traditional Pueblo Dancer painters. This Standing Deer watercolor was painted in 2001. Matted size is 12 inches by 10 inches; watercolor painting is 8 inches by 6 inches.

Wow. This is a most unusual look, almost reminiscent of the style of the pieces done by the innovative Mexican artist Matl and certainly unique for Navajo work. This "watch bracelet" was made by J.M.Begay. The only info I have is that he is from the Lukachukai, Arizona region and began using his hallmark in 1976. Hopi artist Benjamin Mansfield son of Vernon Mansfield made these beautiful watch tips with a turtle design. He is from the Bear Strap Clan, the village Shungopavi Second Mesa, AZ, began silver work in 1983.He learned his craft at the Hopi Guild.
