Museum-quality example of a "Depression Necklace," as these Santo Domingo Pueblo-made necklaces are often called. This is among the best I've ever had the pleasure of offering for sale. The term "Depression" is a general term applied to these pieces although they were made and sold well into the 1960s. I believe their origins do indeed go back to the Depression era, and the thrifty nature of creating something so unique from "found objects" kept the name going. ...click for details

This is a dainty, wondrous beauty for a woman, perfect to show off a skirt or dress and rarely are these type found. The famed "Rainbow Man" shop in Santa Fe, just off the Plaza, had one nearly identical to it in their show of their best old jewelry years ago -- I remember because, of course, I knew I had one by the same maker and nearly identical to it. Someone once told me this reminded them of the work of Roger Skeet, but the initials don't back that up. I still take it as ...click for details
