Paul Vigil (b.1932) is a member of the Tesuque Pueblo tribe, located near Santa Fe, New Mexico. He worked as a carpenter on the Navajo reservation before bringing his family home to the Tesuque Pueblo to re-establish a connection with the Pueblo traditions and the art he excelled in as a teenager. His watercolors of traditional Tewa dancers delineate the clothing and accessories with delicate brushwork, and his work feature geometric designs symbolic of corn, water, or Pueblo architecture.
