Outstanding Civil War drum made by Albany, New York drum makers the Kilbourns, ca. 1865. Signed on the inside, visible through side peephole, "William Kilbourn Successor to George Kilbourn...Bass and Snare Drums...Albany, NY". The eagle and shield mark it as a National Guard drum of the late Civil War period. All original except ropes and leather pulls. In very good overall condition with single tear to top and bottom of drum. Overall dimensions: 13.75"h x 17.5"dia.
