Wonderful still life of "Wild Plums" dated 1966 by John Wilde (1919-2006). Oil on board, signed upper left. Beautiful framing. John Henry Wilde was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1919 and died in Cooksville, Wisconsin in 2006. He studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and later joined their art department where he taught drawing for 34 years. Wilde is best known for magic realism and surrealism and concentrated on human and animal figures and still life.
