| Beautiful scenic Royal Doulton vase with H. Barlow mark on bottom. Hannah Barlow was the first woman to be employed by Henry Doulton and, arguably, the most talented. She is known for her use of sgraffito-a technique where one color is scratched off to reveal a different color underneath. This vase is incised with a scene of grazing cattle. Scroll designs in relief decorate the top and bottom. The inside is glazed a royal blue color with brown and green glazed bands on outside. Bottom has various marks including: "Art Union of London," "Royal Doulton, England," "H. Barlow." Dimensions: 9 1/8" h x 5.75" w. | ||||||||||||
