| Beautiful landscape watercolor by artist J. Ambrose Prichard, also known as J. Ambrose Pritchard. Wonderful soft colors used to paint a lake surrounded by trees and hills. Wonderfully rendered reflection in water. Signed and dated (1896) lower left. Dimensions: 25" x 30.75" (framed); 16" x 22" (sight). J. Ambrose Prichard (1858-1905) was born in Boston and studied at the Academie Julian in Paris. He returned to Massachusetts, most often painting in coastal towns such as Duxbury, Annisquam, and Quincy. He also traveled to New Hampshire to paint the White Mountains. He is best known for his landscapes and marine scenes. | |||||||||
