This is a splendid pair of cassolettes cast from spelter by the middle part of the 19th century directly inspired from the Louis XVI style. Each is intricately cast with beautiful details as floral and acanthus patterns from the pierced crown to the gadrooned belt flanked by a stunning pair of handles with adorable angel’s faces, all standing on a marble base, highlighted by a pierced bronze frieze on bronze legs.
