A fine Georgian reverse painting on glass of a woman in colorful costume C 1800. The painting measures 9x7" and is framed and matted with mirror and gilded wood. The background is embroidered off white fabric. The mirror is showing a little age, silvering coming through but it only adds to the charm of the picture. The reverse is backed in marbleized paper, and was the property of Madame Wunenburger, Chalet Shalimar, Les Avants.
An outstanding 19th Century print eglomise showing a young woman sitting as for a portrait. She is in a fashionable gown and wearing bracelets. her hair is done in the Empire style, and the background shows a basket of freshly picked flowers. The print is surrounded by a silver mirrored cartouche, which itself is surrounded by shades of bronze and gold. the whole effect is striking and very pretty. The condition is excellent, and the picture is19 1/2 by 16.
