A fine portrait of a woman in colorful costume serenely walking in a garden, there is a flowering tree in the background and a fine house. English school C 1820. Reverse painted it measures 9x7" and is framed and matted with mirror and gilded wood. The background is an embroidered off white fabric of the period. The figure is seen walking in costume of the period, serene and very pretty. The reverse is backed in marbleized paper, and was the property of Madame Wunenburger, Chalet Shalimar, Les Avants.
