Saite Period, Dynasty XXVI, 664 - 525 BC. A bronze amulet of Bastet in cat-form. A rod for mounting extends below the narrow base and there is a large loop at back. A pleasing example with good surfaces and a nice patina. H: 7.8cm / 3".

The eyes themselves are made of alabaster. The pupils are in Bronze . The inlays were perhaps from a sarcophagus or a monumental statue. CONDITION: The eye inlays are in fine condition.
