$4500.00

Magnificent traditional Hopi jar won the Red Ribbon for Hopi pottery at Santa Fe Indian Market for Gloria Kahe.

This large flat shouldered jar is 12 3/4" diameter by 6 1/2" tall, quite a difficult form to construct.

Beautifully polychrome painted with Sikyatki style birds and butterflies, golden blushing from the pit firing and elegant shape make this a winner.

Gloria learned her pottery making skills from her mother-in-law, Marcella Kahe.

Buyer pays $30.00 for packing, shipping and insurance.

$495.00

Small pottery olla painted with ducks and arrows, signed by Mary Johnson. Maricopa Indian pottery with burnished red slip, mesquite sap paint, pit fired.

The tall neck pot is in fine condition, and stands 6" tall. Signed.

Not sure who Mary is, I have never had one by her, maybe related to Phyllis Johnson?

Buyer pays $12.00 for shipping and insurance.

The flared rim measures 8 1/2" across and the bowl is 4" deep. Very fine condition, circa 1980s.

Buyer pays $20.00 for shipping and insurance.

$250.00

Sweet little pottery effigy figure with two faces, Maricopa Indian from Arizona. Deep red slip is stone burnished then painted with mesquite sap, wood fired outdoors, just as they have for centuries.

The pottery figure stands 3 3/4" tall and is 2 1/2" across the handle. Wearing abalone shell earrings, we can tell by the facial tatoos that one face is female and the other is male.

Although unsigned, my best guess is this is a Mabel Sunn piece from 1950-1970. Excellent condition.

Buyer pays $12.00 for shipping and insurance.

$900.00

Fine red seed jar by Santa Clara Pueblo Indian artist Susan Snowflake Romero, daughter of Joseph Lonewolf.

Snowflake is famous for her deep red slip which is perfectly burnished and precisely carved in the sgrafitto manner. This miniature pottery seed jar is 1 1/4" tall by 1 1/2" wide. Signed.

A jaguar is portrayed with its tracks evolving from realistic to Mimbres style. There are several levels of depth to the carving, just wonderful artistry!

Buyer pays $12.00 for shipping and insurance.

$1800.00

Small seed pot, sgrafitto carved by Santa Clara Pueblo Indian artist Camilio Sunflower Tafoya, circa 1980.

This miniature pottery is 2" tall by 2" diameter, signed and serial numbered.

Camilio Tafoya, b.1902-d.1995, father of Joseph Lonewolf and Grace Medicine Flower, was well known for traditional carved large pottery vessels that he made with his wife Agapita, until Lonewolf and Medicine Flower encouraged him to try the little pieces, finely polished then lightly carved. His designs are whimsical and lyrical.

Butterflies and a hummingbird flutter around flowers, with a mystical bird spreading his wings.

Buyer pays $12.00 for shipping and insurance.
