Finely woven Navajo Indian tapestry of the Yei bi chai, Navajo ceremonial Dancers with a Navajo couple and Medicine Man.
Woven by Elizabeth Clah, purchased at the Crownpoint Auction about ten years ago, this beautiful tapestry is in like new condition.
Dimensions are 38" by 67", 8 warps and 44 wefts per inch for a fine even weave. Note the intricate details of clothing, feathers, jewelry. Then the border is amazing in its complexity, layers of positive and negative space.
Hand woven on an upright tapestry loom, all the wool is commercial which gives it a wide range of colors.
