Lovely small pottery bowl by Rachel Sahmie, daughter of Priscilla Namingha and grand daughter of Rachel Nampeyo. The eagle tail design is a Nampeyo Family icon. Traditionally made pottery of the red clay, painted with black bee plant paint, pit fired, this is a Hopi jar in miniature at 3" diameter by 1 1/2" deep. Signed "Koo Loo" which Rachel tells me means Corn Clan. Buyer pays $10.00 for shipping. |
