| English oriental polychrome ironstone meat plate or small platter in Wood and Brownfields' Pat No 303. In very good condition with just the slightest sign of use or wear. Marked with the W&B printed backstamp coat of arms/"Dieu et Mon Droit", and "Improved Ironstone China", found on page 89 and pattern on page 95 in Tim Peake's wonderful book "William Brownfield and Son(s) Illustrated Guide 1837-1900", which dates introduction to 1842. By Wood and Brownfield, Cobridge Works, Staffordshire, England. Measures 11-3/4" long and 9-1/2" across. Circa 1840s. John Wood was with Brownfield from 1837-1850.
