| Signed by one of my favorite "less celebrated" Mexican maestros this is a showy necklace that sits beautifully on the neckline and looks dramatic with its intense oxidation and the warmly glowing raised surfaces of the silver overlay. I like to call this the "inverted pyramids" design, and it is also associated with Victoria whose impressive, double "pyramids" bracelets I can't get over... The necklace measures a comfortable 15" long (wearable) and at its widest it is just shy of 1 1/8". It has a cleverly hidden clasp and weighs 75.9 grams. It is signed with the maker's initials "A" and "E" in a heart-shaped "M" (hence the apellation "the heart artist") alongside a not so well-stamped Eagle assay mark (we know it is Eagle 23) and "STERLING MEXICO". Dating in the late 1940s-1950s and in excellent vintage condition.
