| A celebrated book piece Antonio Pineda's "crescent" design is a veritable feast for the eyes in its less-is-more combination of high purity silver and glistening black onyx. Undoubtedly a classic both when it comes to vintage Mexican modernist jewelry but also for Antonio collectors, the necklace's presence is powerful and attracts the eye in a way difficult to resist. The version presented here is my favorite - the links between the individual crescents are topped with a repousse semi-sphere. Sleek and austere, the matching earrings can easily be worn with the necklace without making you feel overdressed. With an inner circumference of 15" the necklace is 2" wide at the center front while the width of the links in the back is between 3/8" (for the silver clasp link) and 5/16" (for the single onyx ones). The earrings are 1 1/8" tall by 5/16" wide (at their widest). Weighing 116.3 grams and 8.2 grams respectively, all three pieces are hallmarked with Antonio's crown mark, "MEXICO 970" and Eagle 3 assay mark (there is no design number as is always the case with Antonio jewelry that bear the Eagle 3 mark). In excellent vintage condition. | ||
