This antique document is a report from the deputy jailor of Middletown, CT concerning "licenses" for the month of January, 1883. The piece is hand written on Jail Office stationery. It is in excellent condition. The recipients have done some calculations in pencil on the margins. This interesting piece of Americana measures 11x13. Charles P Clark New York New England R. R. photograph album 1879. This album was made and given to Clark by his associates in the New York New England Rail Road and is the only one ever made. The album is made from hand tooled leather, with a 24 gold gold leaf binding. Each page was made with a unique double hinge that allows the pages to be easily turned. This wonderful antique document is a list of expenses owed by the Town of Middletown, Connecticut, to a certain George Phillips for the year 1786. It includes such items as a "load of wood", board for three children for fourteen days, and daily items such as sugar and candles. The piece is dated in January, 1787, which was six months before the Constitutional Convention met in Philadelphia.
