For nearly three decades, Kazuo Kuwabara, the sole proprietor of Oriental Treasure Box, has been in the business of acquiring and selling fine Japanese antiques and works of art by the best contemporary artists. In September 2011 his gallery was relocated to its current Kettner Blvd. location in the Little Italy art & design district of San Diego. He started his business in the Cracker Factory Building Antique Center in downtown where he had been for over twenty-two years. After five years in the Ocean Beach area he is pleased to return to the downtown area in North Little Italy. In addition to fine Japanese antiques, the gallery's inventory include the works of many of Japan's finest traditional and modern artists, personally selected by Kazuo who travels to Japan many times a year to find more treasures to add to his collection. Our customers frequently remark that we are very much like a museum and are surprised to find masterpieces by even Japanese Living National Treasures available at the gallery.
