Japanese early 20th century bronze USUBATA. The USUBATA has a wonderful dragon designed base and the upper part is a pierced base and top. The bottom of the pierced middle section has a chop mark reading SHOSAI. The USUBATA measures 16" wide, 13" tall and 14" in depth.

Japanese Late Edo Period lacquered box. The design is of pine and persimmon trees. There are also some small bamboo and grasses at the base of the trees. Beautifully done in gold lacquering techniques, taka-makie, hira-makie, nashiji and kirigane. The box measures 4 5/8" wide, 5 1/8" depth and 5 1/8" tall.

Japanese Meiji period tortoiseshell comb. The tortoiseshell comb has been lacquered with gold lacquer and then carved in a Chinese landscape scene. There are also some small gold inlays on the pine tree needle areas. The comb measures 3 3/8" long and 1 5/8" tall. There is some slight rubbing and some insect damage to the teeth.

Japanese late 19th century sleeve from a stage costume. The sleeve has design hand embroidered on front and back. The front has a large pearl with 3 dragon claws showing around the edge. There are also plum blossoms, bamboo leaves and stylized clouds. The reverse has the 3 friends, bamboo, plum and pine with cloud designs. There is also a fabric handle for the piece. Japanese Edo Period bronze portable and collapsible candle stand. The base opens up to a tripod stand and the central staff consists of 3 bendable sections. The bobeche, or drip catcher is incorporated into the tripod stand when not in use. 13" tall and 5 1/4" deep when standing and 6" wide and 4 1/2" high by 1/2" deep when collapsed.

A Japanese MEIJI Period man's tobacco pouch and KISERUZUTSU pipe case set. The pipe case and tobacco pouch are made of black leather in simple shapes. The pipe case and tobacco pouch are connected to a MANJU type NETSUKE with silver chains. The OJIME is also in silver with peony design.
