Japanese Edo Period hand painted wooden fan with silk tassels. This wonderful and rare fan is beautifully hand painted with birds and flower on the front and abstract butterflies and bamboo leaves on the back. Each side has wonderful gold leaf design. The fan measures 11 7/8" tall, 18 1/2" wide when opened and 2 1/4" thick. The wood portion is from the Edo Period and the silk tassels have been replaced in the early 20th century.

Japanese Meiji Period fine Satsuma vase by master Satsuma artist, Yabu Meizan. The vase is finely painted in 4 horizontal bands of different designs. The top band is of a mille fleur design, the second band is of different traditional craftmen at work, the 3rd is of different scenes from Lake Biwa and the design at the bottom is of alternating designs of mille fleur and of butterflies. Signed Yabu Meizan on bottom. The bowl measures 4 3/4" tall and 2 3/8" in diameter.

Japanese Early 20th Century large ceramic SAKE bottle. The large bottle has the name TSUCHIDA, probably for the name of the local SAKE shop, along with more writing on the sides. The brown slip and part of the ceramic base has been cut into when the character were written on the bottle, showing that this was all done before the bottle had been fired.
