Japanese early 20th century bamboo basket. Beautiful open weave with clever bamboo design. The leg made at each corner is actually a whole bamboo stump with the sides intact, making the 4 side corners of the basket. Unsigned. The basket measures 19 1/4" tall, 5 1/2" wide and 5" deep.
Japanese circa 1900 bamboo basket. The basket is made with 4 corners, each corner being made of a atalk of bamboo, with the bottom becoming one of the 4 feet and the sides making up the sides of the basket. The body of the basket is made of large 1" strips of bamboo in a simple, yet elegant woven pattern. Unsigned. The basket measures 21" tall, 7" wide and 6 1/2" deep.
