Japanese early 20th century ceramic SAKE bottle. The bottle has the name YAMAGAWAYA shop written on the bottle with other character written on the sides. There is also NISHI HAGIWARA written, probably referring to an address. The beige colored slip has black/brown glaze used for the characters. These large bottles were used by the restaurants and bars of the time and returned to the SAKE suppliers for refills. The bottle measures 10" in height and 5" in diameter.

Japanese Meiji Period fine Satsuma vase by master Satsuma artist, Yabu Meizan. The vase is finely painted in 4 horizontal bands of different designs. The top band is of a mille fleur design, the second band is of different traditional craftmen at work, the 3rd is of different scenes from Lake Biwa and the design at the bottom is of alternating designs of mille fleur and of butterflies. Signed Yabu Meizan on bottom. The bowl measures 4 3/4" tall and 2 3/8" in diameter.
