Japanese late 19th century set of black and gold lacquered trays. The set consists of 5 trays with the exact same design. Made by lacquer artist, MUNEMITSU. Each tray measures 10" by 10" and is 1 3/8" tall.

Japanese mid 19th century lacquer poem card box by master lacquer artist NAKAMURA SOUTETSU (1828-1884), 8th generation of master artists. The box is done in various lacquer techniques with the design of clouds and butterflies. The box comes with TOMOBAKO, original wooden artist signed storage box. Japanese Meiji Period lacquered tortoiseshell comb. The base of the comb is tortoiseshell lacquered in gold and brown lacquer with hawk and pine design. The comb has wonderful carved design of a hawk on each side with small gold inlays. Unsigned. Minor rubbing on side edges. The comb measures 3 3/8" long by 1 5/8" tall.
Japanese Meiji Period lacquered tortoiseshell comb. The base of the comb is tortoiseshell lacquered in gold and brown lacquer with swallow and floral design. The comb has wonderful shell and small gold inlays. Signed on the front lower left hand side. Minor insect damage to teeth. The comb measures 3 7/8" long by 1 1/2" tall.
Japanese Meiji Period lacquered tortoiseshell comb. The base of the comb is tortoiseshell lacquered in gold and brown lacquer with the stylized wave design (SEIGAHA) and chrysanthemum blossoms. The leaves and centers of the blossoms are in black lacquer with small gold inlays. Unsigned. The comb measures 3 7/16" long by 1 3/4" tall.
Japanese Meiji Period lacquered tortoiseshell comb. The base of the comb is tortoiseshell lacquered in gold and brown lacquer with the stylized wave design (SEIGAHA) and splashing waves. Above the waves on each side is a single plover done in black lacquer with small gold inlays. Signed KOUSHIN on the front lower left hand side. The comb measures 3 3/8" long by 1 3/4" tall.
Japanese Meiji Period lacquer box. The lacquer box has the design of a vine plant with leaves and flowers and a single grasshopper. The grasshoppers abdomen is done in mother of pearl inlay. The box measures 5 1/2" length by 4" width by 2" height.
Japanese Late EDO or Early MEIJI Period lacquer writing box with design of peonies and KARAKUSA design done in gold and black lacquer on a NASHIJI background. Silk ties with tassels are attached to the sides of the box onto the metal hardware. The hardware has the butterfly MON design on them. 3 3/8" wide by 9 3/8" long by 1 3/4" high.
