The basket and crabs are done realistically and in fine detail. The bronze piece comes with TOMOBAKO or original artist signed wooden storage box. Japanese early 20th century bronze USUBATA. The USUBATA has a wonderful dragon designed base and the upper part is a pierced base and top. The bottom of the pierced middle section has a chop mark reading SHOSAI. The USUBATA measures 16" wide, 13" tall and 14" in depth.
Japanese Meiji Period bronze vase with dragon design. The dragon is done realistically in nice detail. The vase measures 23 3/4" tall by 11 1/2" in diameter.
Japanese Edo Period bronze portable and collapsible candle stand. The base opens up to a tripod stand and the central staff consists of 3 bendable sections. The bobeche, or drip catcher is incorporated into the tripod stand when not in use. 13" tall and 5 1/4" deep when standing and 6" wide and 4 1/2" high by 1/2" deep when collapsed.
Japanese late Edo or early Meiji Period iron heron OKIMONO figure. He iron heron is wonderfully and simply done, standing on one leg. Unsigned and with no storage box. The heron stands 11 3/4" tall and 7 1/4" wide and 4 1/4" deep.
Japanese Early 20th century bronze vase. The vase is of bulbous form with wide neck and rim. The vase has a small geometric design on the front and back done in relief. Made by KATORI HOZUMA (1874-1954). Comes with original artist box. Signature of artist, HOZUMA on base. 9" tall by 7" wide at its widest.
Japanese Meiji Period bronze USUBATA vase. The vase sits on a tripod base and has the design in silver inlays of a small rocky island with pine trees under the moonlight and with the ocean with waves around it. Stamped KAMETANI on the bottom. The vase measures 11 1/2" tall, 12 3/4" diameter at top and 7 1/2" diameter at base.
