Japanese 20th century earthenware tea bowl. The tea bowl has a beautiful salmon pink colored crackle glaze. The deeply thrown bowl has a raised plum design on the outside done in dark brown and white glazes. The branches of the plum tree continue over into the inner side and there is a nightingale resting on one of the branches. The bowl is stamped on the bottom. The bowl measures 3 3/16" tall and 4 3/8" in diameter at the widest.

Japanese 20th century earthenware RAKU tea bowl. The tea bowl has a beautiful ivory colored crackle glaze. The deeply thrown bowl has a plum blossom and star design on the outside. The bowl is stamped RAKU on the bottom. The bowl measures 3 3/8" tall and 4 3/4" in diameter at the widest.

Japanese 20th century earthenware SHINO tea bowl by Tuozo Higuchi (1887-1976). He was designated a regional cultural asset in 1972 and was the first in a three generational family of potters. He worked from his own kiln called Yoshin. The bowl is marked on the bottom by the artist. The deeply thrown bowl has an ivory colored crackle glaze on the inside and outside, with the ivory and terracotta colored glaze design on the sides. Japanese 20th century OHI-ware tea bowl by Ohi Choraku (1902-1991). His art name was Tou Gen Sai. He was the 8th generation of Ohi potters, starting with Ohi Chozaimon (1631-1712) in the 17th century. The tea bowl has a beautiful dark brown glaze on the bottom sides and inner bowl with a lighter heavier glaze dripping down from the top edges. The deeply thrown bowl has a short foot. This other character is probably the logo for the shop. The beige colored slip has dark brown and black glaze used for the characters. Some of the dark brown black slip areas have been chipped off with time. There is also NISHI HAGIWARA written, probably referring to an address. The beige colored slip has black/brown glaze used for the characters. These large bottles were used by the restaurants and bars of the time and returned to the SAKE suppliers for refills. The bottle measures 10" in height and 5" in diameter.

Japanese 21st century thickly glazed Shino ware vase by master artist HAYASHI SHOTARO. He entitled this piece HAKUBA. A member of the prestigious DENTOKOGEIKAI for years, Hayashi has exhibited at major exhibitions throughout Japan. This particular piece was exhibited and originally sold at the 3rd exhibition of his work at the Saikaten Department store in Fujisawa in 2001.
