Japanese 20th century melon shaped vase by Japan Living National Treasure, Tokuda Yasokichi III, born Tokuda Masahiko in Komatsu, Japan. Vase is of simple bottle form with indented neck and wide rimmed top. Tokuda Yasokichi III became Living National Treasure in 1997 and is recognized for work with Saiyu, glaze color gradation technique. This vase comes with TOMOBAKO, original artist signed wooden storage box. The vase measures 8 1/2" tall and 8 1/2" in diameter at the widest.

He first exhibited at the prestigious NITTEN exhibition in 1959. He lives and works in Takaoka City, Japan. The vase is signed SOUGO in back. Japanese 20th century bronze vase. Made by well known Japanese bronze artist, HASUDA SHUGORO (b. 1915 - ). Born in Kanazawa, Japan and graduate of prestigious Tokyo Arts College in 1938. HASUDA SHUGORO has been the recipient of numerous important awards in Japan for his work. In 1991 he was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit. Comes with TOMOBAKO, original artist signed box. The vase has the stamp of the artist on the bottom. The vase measures 9"H by 8 1/4"W by 8 1/4"D.
