Japanese 19th century HIRADO ware plate. The flat plate is beautifully shaped like a 5 petaled flower, with one edge of each petal overlapping the petal underneath. The plate has the design of a bamboo basket filled with grapes and persimmons. The plate measures 8 3/8" wide in diameter and 1" tall.

On the back of the dish is the design of waves hitting against rocks painted in 3 areas. The dish measures 9" wide by 8 1/4" tall by 1 1/8" deep

Japanese 19th century NABESHIMA bamboo design dish. Bamboo plant beautifully painted in underglaze blue. Outer rim and outer side of foot also have designs in blue underglaze. The dish has the tall foot and sloping rim typical of NABESHIMA pieces. The plate measures 7 3/4" in diameter and 2 1/4" in height. The foot measures 5/8" tall.

Japanese late 18th century white IMARI figure of a gentleman. Formed by hand and made of white porcelain with a clear glaze. The gentleman is dressed in formal kimono and is carrying a fan. Done with wonderful expression and in very nice detail. The piece has some natural flaws in the clay and glaze, such as stress cracks and glazing flaws. The figure stands 17 1/2" tall, is 6 1/2" wide and is 5" deep.

Japanese early Meiji Period HIRADO ware vase. The vase has landscapes painted on the front and back and ocean and birds on one side and clouds on the other. The base has a stylized wave design. All painting is done in underglaze blue. There are 2 handles in the shape of dragons with BAKU-like heads. The vase measures 8 1/2" tall, 3 3/4" wide an 3" deep.
