| Japanese 20th century vase by Japan Living National Treasure, Tokuda Yasokichi III, born Tokuda Masahiko in Komatsu, Japan. Vase is of simple globular form with short slender top. The overall glaze is a dark blue with even darker fine navy blue vertical stripes like the hair on a Japanese doll going down the top of the piece from just below the bottom of the slender spout. There are also small circular splashes of iridescent color around the sides. Tokuda Yasokichi III became Living National Treasure in 1997 and is recognized for work with Saiyu, glaze color gradation technique. Comes with TOMOBAKO, original artist signed wooden storage box. The vase measures 6 3/4" tall and is 5 3/4" wide. | |||||||||
